inquisition 1-1k

A few things have been happening… Most life-altering is that I have accepted a faculty job as a Visiting Scholar at Eastfield College, Mesquite, TX. I will return to Dallas from my Roswell residency in mid-August and start teaching various art courses.

Below is a series of exhibits, publications, and other paraphernalia related to my arts practice. Towards the bottom are images related to installations and new series of works I have been exploring. Thanks!

We are excited to be curating an exhibit in the DMA. Selecting regional artists the exhibit  comments on cultural divide between artists, patrons, and institutions.

TAF on Failure -800

The Art Foundation presents “Fail Strong”
July 2013
semigloss. Magazine

Examining the development and subsequent failure of TAF’s attempts to realize a public art work with artist Robert Andrade’s Ruined State(s) No. 2, the article considers the possibility that the project self-realized it’s conceptualization.

Culture Laboratory Collective [link], a nationwide collective, presents FLOW
August 8 -September 7, 2013
The Arts Gallery, Collin College, Plano
(curated by Sue Anne Rische)

Each artist will develop 100+ multiples that will transition into another Culture Lab member’s set of multiples, allowing for individuality of concept and the communal exchange of collaboration to form between works. I will be trying to make 100 paper speakers. It that doesn’t work I’ll have to figure something else out in a hurry.

Chizinski’s Cruel Optimism [link]
by Ryder Richards
Catalog Essay for Free School
Gary Snyder Project Space, Chelsea, NY
Cornell Press, May 2013

“Chizinski’s work argues that the ideological, unarguable stance of valuing human life increasingly collapses onto the individual citizen, with whom our trust must remain in the face of irresponsible government decisions and increasingly apocalyptic predictions.”
