Bush League
Sweet Pass Sculpture Park and Bux Toof present: BUSH LEAGUE, an exhibition inspired by the 150th anniversary of Major League Baseball. Using the anniversary of professional baseball (dating back to the 1869 formation of the Cincinnati Reds) as a point of entry, this exhibition will celebrate and investigate the history, cultural impact and rituals of the sport by transforming Sweet Pass Sculpture Park into an impromptu “sandlot.” Through a range of objects, performances, micro-cinema screenings and printed matter, visitors will encounter the many ways baseball intersects with American history and culture.
During the run of the exhibition, Sweet Pass and Bux Toof will host various performances by local artists and special guests; such as the Texas Playboys and The Daniel Georgiou Group. In addition, there will be periodic release of printed matter and a micro-cinema series screening baseball favorites.
